As Director of Labour Relations, you will provide leadership, support, and strategic advice to district management to optimize sound and responsible labour relations practices for the district. You will bring your expert knowledge and broad labour relations experience in multi-union and complex environments to this role, leading all aspects of labour relations, including leading the bargaining teams for all collective agreements. A key member of the district's leadership team reporting to the Associate Superintendent of Employee Services, you will be accountable for providing advice and leadership on all aspects of labour relations issues, including collective agreement application/ interpretation, employee discipline, investigations, grievances, mediation, and arbitrations. You will ensure consistent district labour relations practice by developing and implementing relevant and engaging labour relations training programs for district management and stakeholders. The Director will be the key resource and trusted advisor to both internal and external partners on a variety of labour relations issues, and will represent the district on labour relations matters competently and with confidence.

As the ideal candidate, you are a dedicated and committed leader who brings exemplary interpersonal skills, experience leading bargaining and arbitrations, and a reputation for building trust and respectful relationships in diverse teams and settings. You can establish and maintain positive and productive relationships throughout the district and understand how the contributions of the employee groups, administrators, district leadership teams, and Trustees support the learners in the district. You are a natural communicator with strong business writing skills, who conveys messages concisely and respectfully, keeping senior management appropriately informed of significant issues.
