Job Summary The Sr. Risk Analyst will report directly to the Director, Risk Initiatives within the Risk Management function. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing analytical and technical support for strategic risk and business initiatives within the Risk Management function. Responsibilities -Support risk and business initiatives focused on optimizing risk decisioning tools and processes; explore innovative solutions (e.g., data acquisition, new technologies, new 3rd party suppliers, etc.) to challenge current approaches to the underwriting decision framework. -Lead risk assessments of new product and service initiatives and provide analysis, feedback and recommendations related to underwriting policies, risks and mitigants and implementation strategy. -Support the Risk Management team on strategic projects, providing subject matter expertise and detailed portfolio analysis. -Work with external partners and suppliers related to new business initiatives to ensure requirements are clearly defined and prioritized. -Collaborate with internal stakeholders (National Sales, Operations, IT, Loss Mitigation) on lender-specific projects and initiatives; drive to resolution of key decision items with a sense of urgency by utilizing data and analysis with a deep understanding of stakeholder needs. -Develop comprehensive monitoring and reporting on new and existing initiatives to determine overall effectiveness and provide updates to key stakeholders (Risk -Management, Project Leads) -Provide support and analysis on completing business validations for internal modeling projects where insurance risk insight is required. | |
Education Requirements | Bachelors Degree in Commerce, Business Administration or Economics |
Experience | Qualifications Minimum of 5 years or more of demonstrated mortgage lending and/or risk management experience with focus on analytics in a mortgage lending environment Demonstrated experience with mortgage underwriting policies, regulatory and compliance requirements Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, analyze and present data using tools such as Microsoft Excel, MicroStrategy and PowerPoint Previous experience in working with a dynamic team, in a fast-past business environment with an ability to manage multiple priorities Strong project management, presentation, and interpersonal skills Proven verbal and written communication skills Organized and customer centric |
