Come join our growing Saskatoon practice as an enthusiastic and motivated Climate Change Consultant. Do you want to play a role in integrating climate change components on a wide range of projects and finding balanced solutions to further the importance of proactive resilience, sustainability, conservation, biodiversity, and natural processes in our work? Our Saskatoon team is comprised of a collective of professionals who serve Indigenous communities, local government, and private sector clients in a variety of projects throughout the province. Our local efforts here are supported by colleagues, resources, and expertise available across the entire company. Our team of strategic climate change professionals provides advice and works alongside clients to develop climate change adaptation plans and incorporate climate resilience principles into community initiatives.

- Learn about funding programs that support communities with strategic climate services and prepare applications and work programs
- Demonstrate an aptitude for consulting and entrepreneurship
- Facilitate engagement and workshops with community members and leadership teams
- Provide technical support for vulnerability and risk assessments and the development of resilience plans
- Communicate effectively with clients, community members and internal project teams
- Keep up to date on emerging climate change assessment frameworks, tools and data sources
- Demonstrate a commitment to learning through the ongoing achievement of personal and professional goals
- Be a champion for the environment and our team, within and outside of Urban Systems
Salary$80,000 - $95,000 Per Year
ExperienceOur preferred candidate will be a graduate with a B.Sc. degree focusing on Environmental Engineering, Natural Resource Science, or Environmental Science with 2-5 years of experience. We will also consider a graduate from other degree programs with equivalent experience. Experience working in a similar role with Indigenous communities will be viewed as an asset. Candidates with all ranges of experience will be considered. The following skills and abilities will also be a benefit:

- An appreciation for consulting and a drive to establish a self-directed and collaborative practice
- Strong technical skills which continually demonstrate capabilities as a consultant
- Desire to grow knowledge in approaches to climate change resilience
- Capable and enthusiastic about playing an integral role in vulnerability and risk assessments and community engagement
- Ability to develop and nurture positive interpersonal relationships with people from varying backgrounds including team members, clients, and partners
- Willing to travel to various communities in the prairies and other geographies of the company both to meet with clients as well as internal project teams
