Instructor Positions Available in Library and Information Technology, and American Sign Language Programs

Creative Arts is seeking instructional interest for future part-time positions for specific programs areas.

Applicants are to clearly demonstrate how they satisfy the required qualifications for all programs as well as program specific qualifications in their written submissions. Candidates must identify the competition number they are applying for in the subject line of the email. An eligibility list will be created for similar casual, part-time and term positions.

DUTIES
Drawing upon extensive experience, Instructors will be expected to lead dynamic, engaging classroom instruction at Red River College’s Roblin Campus. Exceptional technical expertise paired with strong communication skills are required to inspire students in the Creative Arts department.
Ideal candidates will have a demonstrated passion for teaching adult learners and a commitment to lifelong learning.

PROGRAM SPECIFIC REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Library and Information Technology
• Extensive and relevant professional experience in a library setting
• Post-secondary studies within a related field
• Expertise with library classification systems, cataloguing, records management, archiving and preservation, collection development, or reference areas
• Experience with library information systems software
• Customer/client service experience

American Sign Language (ASL & Deaf Studies, American Sign Language – English Interpretation)
• Extensive and relevant professional experience in the Deaf community
• Post-secondary studies within a related field
• Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language
• Experience/knowledge in Deaf culture and history, ethics, and cross-cultural issues
• A thorough understanding of enculturation and the interpreting process with the ability to support students

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
• Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends
