We are currently seeking a Rebar Detailer/ Project Coordinator to join our team in Richmond Hill, Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare detailed rebar placement drawings and schedules based on construction plans, specifications, and relevant industry and company codes and standards. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project requirements.
- Analyze design and construction challenges related to rebar placement and reinforcement. Identify potential issues and propose effective solutions to ensure structural integrity and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to clarify project specifications, resolve conflicts, and ensure accurate implementation of rebar designs and achieve project objectives.
- Maintain effective communication with project team members, clients, and other stakeholders to exchange information, address queries, and provide updates on rebar detailing progress.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior detailers and team members, assisting them in developing their skills and knowledge in rebar detailing. Answer questions, offer advice, and provide support as needed.
- Utilize rebar detailing software (AutoCAD and RebarCAD) and tools effectively to create accurate drawings, schedules, and reports. Stay updated on the latest software advancements and industry best practices.
- Conduct quality checks on rebar detailing drawings to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to industry standards.
- Verify compliance with building codes, regulations, and project specifications throughout the detailing process.
- Implement best practices and quality control measures to maintain high standards of workmanship in rebar fabrication and installation.
- Maintain organized documentation of all rebar detailing activities, revisions, and approvals. Keep records of communication, changes, and project milestones.
- Foster a collaborative work environment by sharing knowledge, providing guidance, and resolving conflicts or issues as they arise.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or closely related field is required.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and RebarCAD) for rebar detailing.
- Minimum of 2 years related experience, of which a minimum 1 year of experience must be in rebar detailing.
- Previous experience working on MTO projects and a thorough understanding of MTO (Ministry of Transportation of Ontario) procedures and OPSS (Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications) strongly preferred.
- The candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in assuming a mentorship role, providing guidance and support to team members when they have questions or require assistance.
- Previous experience in training or mentoring others would be strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are essential for effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.
- Strong understanding of construction principles, building codes, and industry standards related to reinforced concrete structures.
- Knowledge of rebar fabrication processes, construction techniques, and materials preferred.
- A solid understanding of RSIC (Reinforcing Steel Institute of Canada) codes is a prerequisite for this position.
- Exceptional problem-solving expertise is a vital requirement for this role, as the rebar detailer/ coordinator will be responsible for identifying and resolving technical challenges related to rebar placement and reinforcement within the project specifications.
- The ability to analyze and propose effective solutions to address design and construction issues is highly valued.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in rebar detailing is essential to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- The candidate should possess excellent organizational and time management skills, allowing them to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- A strong commitment to quality and continuous improvement is expected, with a willingness to stay updated on industry advancements, best practices, and new technologies related to rebar detailing.
- The candidate should demonstrate a proactive approach to work, displaying the ability to anticipate potential problems and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks.
- Knowledge of using LP software system for releasing rebar for fabrication is an asset.
