Description
The Board of Regents of Luther College is seeking nominations and applications for the role of President.

Established in 1913, Luther College, located in Regina, Saskatchewan, is a college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada (ELCIC) and consists of both a high school and a post-secondary campus. The university program is federated with the University of Regina while the high school, a historical independent school offering grades 9-12 on a separate campus, is accredited by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education.

The College’s motto is “Quality Education in a Christian Context” and refers to the education of the whole person – intellectually, emotionally, spiritually and physically – within a progressive Christian context where principles of love, community, grace, forgiveness and social justice are paramount. The College currently serves over 1,000 students enrolled at both the high school and university campuses.

Both Luther College High School (LCHS) and Luther College at the University of Regina (LCUR) are distinguished by a Lutheran heritage of excellence in scholarship, freedom of inquiry, and a faithful seeking after truth in the context of a progressive understanding of Christianity. Luther College is committed to serving students of all cultures, creeds and orientations by nurturing intellectual, emotional and spiritual growth and providing the highest quality of teaching and fosters outstanding research within the humanities, social sciences, fine arts, and sciences while presenting and challenging a broad spectrum of values and viewpoints. More information about Luther can be found at: www.luthercollege.edu.

The Board is seeking a visionary and collaborative leader to guide Luther College’s continued pursuit of academic and teaching excellence and its commitment to student success at both the university and high school levels. The President will be a passionate and innovative visionary who will articulate and advocate for the importance of education in today’s competitive and rapidly evolving world and will possess a clear understanding of how this combination of high school and postsecondary education complements each other and contributes to Luther College’s identity. The ideal candidate will have outstanding leadership and management skills, will demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion and bring a record of successful external relations.

All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, in accordance with Canadian immigration requirements, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. Luther College is committed to employment equity and encourages applications from all qualified candidates including women, Indigenous people, visible minorities, people with disabilities and all groups protected by the Human Rights Code. However, Luther College is free to and will consider religion as a factor in hiring since the new president must be able to support and enhance the vision and mission of the school (see article 16(5) of the Saskatchewan Human Rights Code).
