Indigenous Relations Liaison
$67,931.58 - $86,624.56 annually

BC Timber Sales (BCTS) is a unique program of the Ministry of Forests. Working collaboratively with regional and district operations, BCTS plans, develops and auctions a substantial portion of the province's annual available timber volume. BCTS operates as a for profit entity within a government organization.

The Indigenous Relations Liaison works within the BCTS business area to develop and maintain positive relationships with Indigenous Peoples to advance BCTS' business principle dedicated to true and lasting reconciliation. The position works directly with Indigenous Peoples and BCTS staff to plan and facilitate legal consultation processes consistent with legal requirements, reconciliation and relationship building and supports senior staff in negotiation and implementation of business-to-business and relational agreements. The agreements contribute to effective and durable relationships with Indigenous Peoples.

Salary$67,931.58 - $86,624.56 Annually
ExperienceQualifications for this role include:
-Registered, or eligible for registration, as professional (i.e. Registered Professional Forester) with the British Columbia association as required by the specialty area, and 2 years of experience related to natural resource or Indigenous Peoples relationship management.
Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
- Experience with contract management.
- Experience or education in forestry or natural resource management.
- Experience or education related to Indigenous Peoples relationship management.
- Experience conducting research and analysis related to land use, resource management, social or economic development issues.
