Reporting to the Chief Supply Chain Officer, the Director, Supply Chain Infrastructure Projects (Director) is responsible for managing a team of 50 plus professionals engaged in supply chain strategy development, enterprise-wide purchasing and the issuance, tendering, evaluation, negotiation and award of a variety of contracts of up to $500M. Overseeing procurement for construction, services, materials and equipment required to execute Generation as well as Transmission & Distribution projects, the Director will manage design-build, supply and install, construction, and consulting contracts ranging from simple direct awards to complex, multi-faceted, high value, politically sensitive and high risk agreements. The Director is also responsible for leading procurement initiatives related to the Site C Clean Energy Project as well as overseeing Indigenous Procurement practices corporation-wide, including advisory services in the development and execution of strategies, guidelines and related processes.

The ideal candidate is a strategic supply chain professional who has worked in large, complex environments with highly diverse customer bases and stakeholder groups. The incumbent will have strong expertise managing the procurement of large-scale capital projects and infrastructure initiatives and will have played a significant role in implementing systems that have made the function stronger and more efficient. The Director possesses a supportive leadership approach and the ability to bring expert knowledge to all interactions with the team, the organization, and the communities BC Hydro touches. Ten plus years of experience as a senior leader in a utility, manufacturing or industrial environment with a related undergraduate degree is essential.
Education Requirements- A university degree, diploma or a professional designation in Business, or a related field including management courses in finance, organizational design, and change management.
- SCMP designation or MBA/CPA would be considered an
asset.
- A proven track record of successfully building, leading
and managing large, diverse teams and complex business
requirements involving multiple stakeholders.
Experience- A minimum of ten years' experience as a people leader
in progressively more responsible senior procurement or
supply management roles.
