This position reports to the Vice President, CPRIL and assists CPRIL to complete key deliverables related to project and program delivery within Confederation College, and particularly with developing faculty and staff capacity in relation to the Negahneewin Education Strategy and the Indigenous Learning Outcomes, as well as other initiatives as they may emerge. Duties include but are not limited to: • Assisting in research and project management while contributing to best practices for the respectful use of Indigenous knowledge(s); • Collecting and consolidating existing professional development resources along with researching new academic and community-based sources,; and • Collaborating with CPRIL in researching, designing and coordinating professional development materials for Indigenous Learning Outcomes development. | |

Salary | $22.91-$26.53/hr |
Education Requirements | • Three (3) year diploma/degree in a field related to humanities, social sciences or Indigenous studies, with courses in statistics, research methodology and techniques, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; |
Experience | • Practical experience in supporting research projects, with background in research relating to Indigenous studies, and postsecondary educational developments in community settings; • Knowledge of the lived experiences of Indigenous learners in the context of Indigenous communities in northwestern Ontario; • Strong technical knowledge of research technologies and multimedia presentation methods; • Knowledge of the field of Indigenous Studies at postsecondary institutions in Canada; • Demonstrated knowledge of current initiatives and trends in education affecting Indigenous communities within our region and province; • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; • Excellent interpersonal skills and motivated to work in a small team environment; • Skilled in collaboration and able to work respectfully with diverse groups; • Highly motivated to work in a team environment, and on one’s own as required; and • Excellent organizational skills to support research projects and programs through planning and implementation skills. |
