Abide Inc. is in need of Production Technician

Employment Terms: Full Time - Permanent

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Setting up, operating and controlling machinery according to SOPs. This includes starting, stopping machines, adjusting settings, calibrating, and ensuring that machines are running smoothly.
2. Ability to monitor and detect any issues or malfunctions of the machines. This includes observing gauges, meters, scales, and other indicators to ensure that machines are operating within specification parameters.
3. Ability to perform visual check of the finished products to ensure that the process involving the making of the product with the use of the machine is functioning properly.
4. Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, troubleshooting and minor repairs.
5. Making sure that all environmental monitoring is active on a daily basis. Replenish batteries if required.
6. Ability to adhere to safety procedure and guideline to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes wearing appropriate protective gears, and maintaining a clean work environment.
7. Keeping accurate record of production input/output, sanitation, machine maintenance to ensure compliancy with regulations.
8. Dispense and store cannabis as needed and record on the log sheet.
9. Performing destruction of hemp/cannabis and record the activity accordingly.
10. Carry out daily activities as scheduled/planned for example, grooming, grinding, mixing, packaging etc.
11. Perform other related task assigned.

Working Hours: 10 hours/day, work schedule from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM; 3 days off per week on weekends

Work Location: 1551 Caterpillar Road, Mississauga, ON, Canada L4X 2Z6

Employment Requirements:
- Knowledge of FEFO (First Expiry First Out) method in dispensing activities
- Understands potency calculations for API and excipients in formulations
- Understands Cannabis Act and Cannabis Regulations and guidelines.
- Experience in a small team and dynamic environment where changing priorities and multi-tasking are key.
- Hands on experience with Manufacturing and Operations in a Cannabis Pharmaceutical manufacturing setting is ideal.
- Knowledge of cannabis products, formulated cannabis oil, encapsulation technology and other dosage forms manufacturing processes and procedures would be an asset.
Salary$22/hour, 40 hours/week
Education RequirementsCompletion of secondary school education is required
Experience2-3 years in Cannabis/ Pharmaceutical /Cosmetic industry in production/ packaging department is ideal; 2 years + experience in formulation (infused oils, capsules, topicals) is an asset.
