About the role

 

The Retail Payment Systems Operations team provides business and technical expertise to ensure the operational excellence of Canada’s clearing and settlement infrastructure, and interfaces with member institutions to develop, maintain and improve the business processes (including rules and standards) supporting the operation of the national clearing and settlement systems. The team also plays a key role in planning the evolution and future state of retail payments in Canada. 

 

Please note, we have two vacancies for this posting;

  • 1 Full-Time position.
  • 1 Term position for 15 months.

 | What you’ll do

Responsibilities of the senior payment analyst will include: 

  • Analyze the business needs of members and stakeholders in order to propose solutions to identified problems and identify opportunities for value added services;
  • Provide subject matter expertise to internal and external stakeholders for any matters related to Payments Canada retail payment operations, rules, and standards; 
  • Manage the work related to the assigned Payments Canada task forces, committees, and working groups, including agenda management and acting as Chair or Secretary; 
  •  Maintain a strong understanding of Payments Canada’s by-laws, rules and standards as well as industry trends to ensure operational excellence; 
  • Lead project teams to support the coordination and execution of operational projects and annual initiatives;
  • Provide mentorship to Retail Payment Systems Analysts and assist in their development of reports for key stakeholders and senior management; 
  • Provide on-call support as needed to support 5x24 operations and ensure timely and accurate follow-up and reporting of all participant and Payments Canada system incidents. 

 |Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field;
  • Minimum of four (4) to seven (7) years of experience in a business administration, economics, policy, or finance related position;
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Experience leading large scale corporate projects involving multiple stakeholders;
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian Payments Industry, in particular the Canadian Payments Clearing and Settlement Systems;
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to work outside of regular working hours based on operational requirements;
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation;
  • Occasional travel within Canada may be required; 
  • Valid criminal records check or eligibility to obtain. 

|Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset. 

| Salary Range

  • Based on qualifications and experience: $93,637 and $117,046
