About the Opportunity
We are looking for an intermediate Civil Engineering Technologist to join our Edmonton team of professionals providing quality services to our clients within Edmonton and the surrounding areas. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a highly collaborative environment working alongside our team of planning, engineering and community consultants. Our design technologist team is an essential part of our practice and our ability to deliver excellent service. You will be working to complete designs from high-level conceptual through to detailed design drawings. Specifically, you can expect to be involved in:
- Carrying out drafting and design assignments
- Communicating with team members and project leaders
- Supporting design, drawing production and/or construction specifications
- Ensuring quality control of both design and drafting production work
- Performing field inspections during construction projects
- Performing a variety of defined assignments with guidance from team members
- Advising the team on technical problems and troubleshooting
- Promoting and instilling a sense of collaboration among members
Essential SkillsIn particular, we are looking for the following skills, strengths and interests:
- Excellent drafting skills with good knowledge of drawing set-up and production
- Proficiency in Civil 3D (required)
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn Infraworks (required)
- A keen eye for detail and take great pride in your work, both the large and the small projects
- Effective communication and writing abilities
- Committed to ongoing personal and professional development
- Ability to travel for work on site
- Certification or eligible for certification with ASET AB
- A desire to expand your previous exposure to construction and field services work
ExperienceOur ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited Civil Engineering Technology program, EDDT, or equivalent with a minimum of 4-years of experience. Given the variety of project needs and a desire to find the right person to fit within our team, we will consider candidates with a range of experience, education, and background in land development, transportation, and/or municipal infrastructure detailed design and production.
