Rogers is seeking a Senior Program Manager to support the Assisted Channel and Business IT experience and lead transformative initiatives and technology innovations for improving both the customer and front-line experience. Reporting to the Sr. Director Program, Management, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of programs across multiple delivery teams on Wireless, Connected Home and Rogers for Business (R4B). In this role, you will work closely with key functional areas of the business (CEX, Wireless, Connected Home, Digital, Marketing, etc.) to oversee the impacts, iinterdependencies,and timelines between functional and working teams to ensure project initiatives meet the goals and objectives set forth by the senior and executive leadership teams.  

 

The position requires a balance of project management technical skills, highly developed analytical skills, proven managerial skills, and team development / relationship skills. To be successful in this role, the Program Manager requires strong business and technical program management acumen, and the ability to thrive in a high-paced environment managing diverse activities. 

 

Typical Responsibilities

  • Manages all phases of the program/projects from inception through completion
  • Responsible for the preparation of CA estimates within the program scope and for the cost, schedule and technical performance of the program/projects
  • Supports the development of transformational strategic plans and the program roadmap
  • Create the structure and support system for the program and its respective projects -- to ensure it is conducive to leading and coordinating the planning and delivery of Program objectives.
  • Provides leadership on overall program tracking, assessment and reporting in the areas of status, forecasts, issues, and risks; oversees the development and communication of project status reporting.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor a program charter and program plan, with schedule and budget and develops the communication of Steering Committee Reports Supports the ongoing management of business cases for all program initiatives
  • Liaises with the IT PMO and TechHub to ensure that the program approach effectively aligns with necessary Roger’s project management practices and governance.
  • Work with PMs assigned to internal projects to ensure that we are looking holistically across the program.
  • Responsible for 3rd party statements of work, contracts, validation of invoices, etc.
  • Creates a central control point for all projects associated with the program. Ensures established Change Management processes are followed to avoid scope from becoming changed without due diligence regarding schedule and budget impact
  • Ensures updates are made to weekly Executive Dashboards and governance forums to track and report on project progress and milestone completions.
  • Conducts walk-through with stakeholders, manages post implementation review and identifies lessons learned, creates communications for senior management discussion.

 

Qualifications and Technical Skills 

  • 10+ years of professional telecom, software or related industry Program/Project Management experience
  • Demonstrates ability to navigate through major projects from the idea inception, through pre-planning activities and up to project closure and is a Project Management Professional (PMP) certified (the ITIL Certification is an asset) earned among peers in industry.
  • Demonstrates ability to work effectively on multiple programs within a fast-paced high-tech customer service-oriented environment that span across business units and with project teams and stakeholders that are in located in various geographical areas and with delivery teams offshore working in an outsourced model
  • Experience in Scaled Agile (SAFE)
  • Highly developed analytic, interpersonal and communication skills to influence and engage colleagues, along with a broad understanding of the businesses they support.
  • Well-developed influence and negotiation skills to resolve distinct differences of opinion or approach and well-developed written and verbal communication skills, sufficient to convey or present factual and conceptual information on complex issues
  • Developed management/ leadership skills sufficient to lead/motivate and develop others.
  • Demonstrated strong vendor interaction and relationship management skills, especially with off-source resources
