PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Manager, Accounting, leads a team of professional accountants in sustaining corporate and property accounting processes, supporting timely and accurate financial reporting.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage execution of monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes;
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, analyses, reports, and disclosures prepared by team members;
  • Establish, communicate, update and execute a workplan detailing and scheduling issue resolution and improvement projects;
  • Coordinate activities with the multiple internal stakeholders that provide information into the accounting processes or require their output;
  • Assess performance, provide and solicit feedback, coach and develop team members;
  • Identify and execute process improvements and monitor existing process to ensure continuous improvement;
  • Establish and monitor documentation standards for the team;
  • Ensure processes comply with applicable internal control (SOX) requirements;
  • Recommend solutions addressing significant financial transactions and track their timely implementation.

 

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Accounting Designation required (CPA);
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience;
  • Management and leadership skills including coaching, motivating, team building, implementing change, process reviews and improvement;
  • Knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements applicable to public companies (US GAAP experience, desirable);
  • ERP/SAP knowledge (desirable);
  • Application Expertise (desirable): Workiva, BPC, Excel;
  • Possess a strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and lead team in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Management Conductor Program:
