We are hiring 1 (one) full time, permanent Systems Analyst, Mobile position working out of Edmonton, AB.

The Systems Analyst, Mobile provides technology expertise to the Application Services department and EPCOR as a whole. They are responsible for maintaining, operating and enhancing EPCOR's custom mobile applications. The Systems Analyst, Mobile will provide usability focused solutions which delight our customers.

What you'd be responsible for

Reporting to the Manager, Web & Mobile, you would be accountable for but not limited to:

 

  • Acting as an expert of EPCOR's mobile & web applications and EPCOR's mobile & web infrastructure. This includes a technical understanding of all applications in the mobile team and web team portfolio.
  • Ensuring the delivery of optimal results against appropriate operational performance metrics:
    • Incident Delivery and Responsiveness
    • Delivery on Change Request estimations
    • Customer Satisfaction Surveys
    • System Availability
    • Process Improvements
  • Monitoring application performance and tracking performance trends including hardware and OS resources
  • Ensuring system reliability and availability through proactive system monitoring, maintenance and change management
  • Providing mobile-subject area expertise to operational and project teams as required
  • Providing excellent customer service to our customers. Employs open communication and problem solving skills to resolve customer issues and incidents efficiently and effectively within expected timeframes.
  • Abiding by all Application Services departmental policies and processes for the purpose of consistent support and administrative practices throughout Application Services
  • Keeping up on industry trends and new technologies through research. Providing technical recommendations to the team, department or customers
  • Scheduling and performing deployments on production systems
  • Provide on-call support for all mobile applications

What's required to be successful

  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering OR diploma in Computer Engineering, System Technology or Management Information Systems
  • 4-6 years of related experience in Web Operations and/or Development
  • Broad understanding of IT concepts
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM using one or more common programming languages
  • Experience supporting large public facing websites or intranets
  • Has worked within large corporate environments and is familiar with basic networking concepts like load balancers, firewalls and domains
  • Experience in web technologies such as C#, ASP.NET, MVC, .Net Core, ReactJS, CSS, HTML, Bootstrap, Material UI, JavaScript, TypeScript
  • Experience in mobile technologies such as MAUI.net and/or Xamarin
  • Experience in Azure Cloud technologies including Azure AD(Entra), Azure Web Apps, Azure Application Insights, Azure Blob Storage, Azure SQL Server, Azure Application Service Environment, Azure Web Application Firewall, Azure Functions, Cosmos DB and API Gateway
  • Experience in Pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Octopus, Azure DevOps Pipelines, Azure ARM templates, PowerShell and YAML
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical end users
  • Demonstrated capability to design, develop and unit test web solutions
  • Can comfortably move between tech stacks
  • Proven track record of ability to diagnose, research, recommend and implement solutions to production problems
  • Experience implementing Progressive Web Applications would be considered an asset
  • Ability to react with urgency to troubleshoot critical issues when faced with application availability situations
  • Effective interpersonal and customer service skills which will help to build and foster lasting relationships
  • Strong work ethic and critical thinking skills that will allow for success in a highly visible area of Information Services
  • Ability to prioritize own workload while remaining flexible and adaptable
  • Seeks out and acts on opportunities to learn new skills and improve processes and procedures within the team
  • Strives to efficiently fulfill customer requests and complete assigned tasks with a high degree of quality

Class: IT2

Wage: Starting at $53.05 per hour (Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and are subject to change based on the ratification of the new Collective Agreement).

Hours of work: 75 hours biweekly
