We are hiring a full time, permanent Manager, Infrastructure Architecture, Network & Cloud position in Edmonton, AB! This position reports to, and works closely with the Senior Manager, Infrastructure Planning & Architecture.

As the Manager, Infrastructure Architecture, Network and Cloud, you are accountable for the performance of EPCOR's core IS Infrastructure services and lead a team to support these services.  You will use your knowledge and expertise to evaluate and strategically plan for new platforms and technologies, develop new infrastructure services, maintain IT roadmaps, create and maintain technology standards, review existing systems, and provide oversight and support to IS Infrastructure services. You work collaboratively with others and have strong skills in stakeholder consultation, requirements gathering, and documentation. Your ability to translate complex terms into understandable communication helps you develop, evaluate, present, and recommend appropriate technical solutions.

What you'd be responsible for

• Providing input to the IS Infrastructure plans, roadmaps, standards, and services. Possessing an appropriate understanding of EPCOR and the IS Infrastructure strategy throughout infrastructure and operations. Ensures on-going effective positioning and appropriate relationships between other positions in IS and EPCOR.
• Developing and implementing appropriate deliverables within the context of the IS Infrastructure plan.
• Ensuring deliverables of direct report positions are aligned, integrated, and include performance metrics.
• Identifying the necessary budget requirements for the provision of updates, maintenance, or replacement of EPCOR's core IT Infrastructure, while working within EPCOR's budget.
• Creating, coaching, and supporting a strong team of employees.
• Establishing, monitoring, and reporting performance metrics and analyzing any issues impacting operational performance to establish initiatives for continuous improvement. This ensures: high availability of the IS Infrastructure, roadmaps and capital plans are up to date, project design timelines are met, budget targets are met, and customer satisfaction survey targets are met.
• Developing yearly and 5-year rolling IT Capital plans and Architecture Roadmaps for IS Infrastructure and Security services. Ensuring the existing architecture standards are adhered to and refined as necessary, including solution architecture guidance to projects, operations, and functional team members.
• Collaborating on and assisting in completing technical architecture assessments and installations for IS Infrastructure, Security, and Cloud initiatives.
• Identifying emerging technologies and investigate the applicability to EPCOR.
• Establishing and maintaining support channels with current and strategic vendors.

What's required to be successful

• Technical degree or diploma focusing on Information Systems, or combination of experience and training in a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in IT including supporting enterprise datacenter Infrastructure services.
• 7+ years of experience working on large scale Infrastructure and technology advancement projects.
• 5+ years of experience progressively responsible leadership roles.
• Strong knowledge of datacenter infrastructure hardware and software, including but not limited to: MS Windows, Linux, Unix, Active Directory, SQL, Exchange, Citrix, Print, File systems, Storage systems (NAS, SAN), Storage management, System build and software deployment technology and networking.
• A good understanding of licensing practices and strategies.
• A good understanding of new and emerging technology trends.
• Ability to structure and deliver long range (1-2 years) Capital Delivery planning.
• Considerable experience developing and maintaining detailed organizational level Infrastructure architecture and standards.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement IT products and services in accordance with regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Strong knowledge of IT security and service management frameworks.
• Strong leadership and facilitation skills in advising and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
• Technical system documentation, process mapping, standards, process, and procedure documentation.
• Knowledge and/or certification in CoBIT, ITIL, TOGAF, SCRUM, Azure, Cisco, and Palo Alto would be an asset.
