We are hiring one (1) Full Time, Permanent Network & Security Architect position.

 

This position is eligible for EPCOR's Where We Work hybrid program!

 

The Network & Security Architect is accountable for the implementation, configuration, and design of EPCOR's business network and security inspection tools. This includes leading the evaluation and project delivery of new technologies and platforms. A key area of focus is evolving EPCOR's business network in a manner that aligns with security and information management best practices.

 

What you'd be responsible for

 

  • Providing input to the Network, Security, and Cloud Infrastructure Architecture plans and directions.
  • Ensuring an appropriate understanding of the EPCOR and IS Infrastructure strategy throughout infrastructure and operations, and ensure on-going appropriate relationships with other positions in IS and in the rest of EPCOR.
  • Ensuring that network and related Infrastructure Services are configured in alignment EPCOR's Security Standard in addition to other Information Management and regulatory & compliance requirements.
  • Analyzing and identifying issues impacting operational performance and recommend initiatives for continuous improvement to ensure; high availability of the IS Infrastructure services.
  • Ensuring architecture, configuration, and compliance documentation is created for all assigned projects and is of high quality.
  • Supporting business development activities, including the technical assessment of new locations in support of business acquisition and expansion.
  • Strategic project leadership: Lead internal initiatives to deliver new security and network capabilities such as SDWAN and SASE.
  • Participating in major incident and problem ticket investigations. Enables the timely resolution of service outages.
  • Anticipating the impacts of upcoming technology changes and the risks associated while keeping management informed as to options for mitigation.
  • Collaborating with application teams and participates in projects to assess and migrate applications from on premise to the cloud.
  • Working directly with vendor and partner contacts to establish support channels and plan proactive and reactive engagements.
  • Collaborating directly with stakeholders to understand business requirements and recommend technology solutions to emerging requirements.
  • Demonstrate a high performance, high discipline, safe, accountable, focused, innovative and achievement-oriented, easy to do business with manner of working.

 

What's required to be successful

 

  • University degree or diploma focusing on Information Systems, or combination of experience and training in a related field.
  • IT security related certification (e.g., CISSP, CISA, GIAC, or similar professional certification) will be an asset.
  • 7+ years' experience working as a network engineer providing operational support to large multi-site organizations.
  • 5+ years' experience working on large scale technology adoption and/or transformation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of IT security and service management frameworks.
  • Demonstrated knowledge working with Cisco and Palo Alto network and security devices. Expertise in Panorama and Cisco Catalyst center is desired.
  • Experience with the implementation and design of SDWAN, SASE, MPLS, VPN, IPSEC, BGP, and other network technologies and protocols will be beneficial.  
  • Experience with the design and implementation of network security tools such as IPS (Intrusion Prevention System), Firewall, SSLV, URL Filtering, XDR is essential.  
  • Technical system documentation, process mapping, standards, process, and procedure documentation.
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills in advising and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, evaluate, present, and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience working with various security frameworks and standards: ISO 27001, NIST information security standards and frameworks, PCI DSS, HITECH, GDPR, Service Organization Controls (SOC) 2, and industry information security best practices.
