EPCOR is looking for up to two (2) Full Time, Temporary Labourer positions, located in Regina, SK!

 

If you are a self-motivated individual with an excellent work ethic, a team-oriented attitude and previous Labourer experience EPCOR has an excellent opportunity for you to join our team at the Regina Wastewater Treatment plant. As the Labourer, you will be responsible for the cleaning of process equipment, grounds maintenance and various support activities at the Plant.

 

What you'd be responsible for

 

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, and taking direction from the Maintenance Lead and Operations Lead, the Labourer will be accountable for, but not limited to:

  • Performing maintenance activities which include, but are not limited to:
    • Manually cleaning and low pressure flushing of wastewater treatment process systems and digesters
    • Garbage collection, sweeping floors and general housekeeping duties in process areas
    • Sorting parts and assisting with inventory management activities
  • Assisting in performing process tank cleaning activities.
  • Using simple hand tools and occasional use of power tools.
  • Providing assistance to WWTP Operations in their daily activities
  • Providing assistance to WWTP maintenance tradespeople.
  • Making safety a priority and supporting the achievement of a 'zero injury' culture by:
    • reviewing hazard risk assessments
    • preparing and following daily Safe Work Plans
    • complying with all PPE requirements
  • Other duties as required.

 

What's required to be successful

  • Grade 12 diploma or GED is required.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 license and a Class 3A (with 6 demerits or less) is an asset. A Driver Abstract will be required.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position which include heavy manual work in all weather conditions.
  • Clearance on pre-placement medical and drug and alcohol testing will be required.
  • Previous Labour and/or maintenance experience in an industrial environment would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of safety awareness.
  • Analytical thinking, mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Ability to create and maintain supportive and collaborative relationships with colleagues.

 

As our best candidate, you will be a self-starters with the ability to work effectively both in a team environment as well as work independently with limited or no supervision. In addition to maintaining a safe work record, our ideal candidates must be mechanically inclined and actively demonstrate problem solving capabilities when faced with challenging issues in the workplace.
