Wilco Contractors Southwest Inc. is looking for experienced landscape supervisors for mid April/May 2020, depending on weather conditions.

Duties are as follows, but are not limited to:
Collaborate and resolve project-related problems in conjunction with the Project Manager, inspectors and architects
Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of workers who maintain lawns, gardens, athletic fields, golf courses, parks, interior plantscapes and other landscape construction areas of work
Coordinate project materials and labour requirements, including applicable subcontractors
Organize the planting and maintenance of trees, gardens, lawns, shrubs and hedges and the construction and/or installation of walkways, boardwalks and retaining walls
Maintain team work schedule and timesheet submittals, and co-ordinate activities with other work units
Prepare and submit progress and other reports as needed
Requisition supplies and materials
Attend safety courses and facilitate safety meetings, maintain site safety, complete job hazard assessments and maintain safety/personnel records
Operate skid steers, excavators and other equipment
Train workers in job duties and company policies
*May perform the same duties along side workers supervised

Pay schedule is bi-weekly; private healthcare insurance will be provided to bridge eligibility of provincial healthcare coverage.

Education RequirementsCompletion of secondary school or more is an asset. A college diploma, specialized courses or industry-related training and certification in landscaping and horticulture is also an asset
Essential SkillsSupervisory skills
Experience operating multiply pieces of construction equipment.
ExperienceTwo years to less than three years experience as a landscape or horticulture supervisor, or as a landscape or horticulture technician is required. Hands on experience in the type of work supervised is also required.

Work SettingsRegular shift will be Monday to Saturday (minimum 44 hours), in peak season starting at 6 am. Over time at 1.5 times regular rate after 8 hrs/day, 44 hrs per week. Vacation pay will be calculated at 6% for regular time hours.
