| The Indigenous Student Services Coordinator facilitates the development of institutional culture, space, systems and supports that foster access and success for Indigenous students. These responsibilities are rooted in a holistic perspective and supported by positive relationships built with Elders and local Nations. Job Requirements -Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline and minimum of five years’ experience in a post-secondary setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience -Proven experience working with Indigenous communities with first-hand knowledge of Indigenous cultures, practices, and issues -Demonstrated success with student service initiation and delivery in a post-secondary environment -Superior communication and interpersonal skills with experience in a diverse setting -Knowledge of cross-cultural issues and ability to facilitate Indigenous cultural competency training -Excellent advising and conflict resolution skills, as well as a high level of diplomacy, tact, and judgment necessary when dealing with difficult situations -Fluency in online learning environments -Must be able to work flexible hours -Knowledge of the programs and strategic directions of Royal Roads University is an asset | |
