Employment Terms: Full Time - Permanent

Job Summary:
As a member of the Feed Department team, the Mill Technician is responsible for operating the feed mill under the direction of the Mill Manager and the Feed Department.

General Responsibilities:
1. Operate feed mill - ensure grain is received, milled, and shipped within specified requirements and on time.
- Ensuring feed is made to required specifications
- Follow all safety protocols
- Understand and comply with all Biosecurity protocols
2. Maintain feed quality, including ensuring proper particle size, mycotoxin testing, etc.
3. Keeping the mill clean and organized
- Pest control
4. Minor repairs and maintenance & order supplies as required
5. Timely response to emergency & alarm call-outs - as needed
6. Other duties as assigned

Education / Experience Required:
1. Completion of secondary education is required
2. At least 1 year of feed mill experience required, mechanical experience is not required but considered an asset
3. Ability to work with minimal supervision
4. Effective time management with a clear focus to attain results
5. Attention to detail
6. Understanding of hog production an asset but not required
7. Valid class 5 driver's license

Accountability:
1. Participate in Company Training programs
2. To follow Company policies and procedures
3. Troubleshooting problems in the mill
4. Ensuring that the equipment is functional
5. Developing innovative solutions to maintenance problems and issues.
6. Emergency support outside normal working hours
7. Responsible to act safely in performing job duties at all times
8. Reporting safety concerns to the safety representative and/or Manager

Working Hours:
8 hours/day: shift is from 7:00am to 3:30pm or 9:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday however scheduled days and times may vary
