| Magga Engineering, Edmonton, Alberta, is seeking to add a Mechanical Draftsperson/Piping Designer to our dynamic team. This position supports the Lead for mechanical/piping design and 2D and 3D layout of moderate complexity projects in oil/gas industry. Vacancy: 1 position Job Type: Permanent, full-time Responsibilities: Develop and prepare design sketches Write specifications Prepare 2D Computer Aided Design (CAD) Mechanical/Piping drawings for oil/gas projects. Create and develop 3D model using CadWorx. Development of piping design and layout deliverables, including plot plans, 3D models, isometrics, general arrangement drawings and material take-offs Prepare Equipment List, Line Designation Table, Tie-In Lists and Bill of Materials. Provide technical piping design work to develop project drawings to meet project deliverables and communicate such to the project/design team Adhere to industry codes and standards as well as department practices and procedures. Ensure that all projects conform to client specifications, codes and standards Proactively work with Document Control to maintain project issue dates Other duties as assigned Requirements: • Completion of a college program in engineering design and drafting. • 2-3 years’ experience in 2D, 3D drafting preferred • Prefer experience within conventional oil/gas plants, well site, batteries, full service terminal facilities • Must be proficient with the following design software: AutoCAD, CadWorx (3D Equipment Modelling), Microsoft Office Software • Familiarity with the development procedure of Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs), Plot Plans, General Arrangements and Isometrics • Strong skills in drafting and design fundamentals • Sound understanding of engineering design principles and design codes | |
