Manager Provincial Operations, Preparedness
$96,400.00 - $128,100.03 annually

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is the Province of BC's primary emergency response organization. The BCWS operates provincially, delivering services through six fire centres, thirty-three zones and two provincial centres in Kamloops and Victoria.

Reporting to the Director, Provincial Operations, the Manager, Provincial Operations, Preparedness is responsible for leading the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the BCWS preparedness program.

Qualifications for this role include:
- University degree or technical diploma in a field related to forestry, resource management, emergency management, public administration or equivalent; OR,
- An equivalent combination of education, experience and training may be considered.
- Experience in a senior leadership capacity and/or senior management experience in wildfire management or an emergency management program and/or field.
- Experience dealing with complex emergent stakeholder interests and issues management.
- Experience leading and coaching diverse teams.
- Experience in strategic business planning, procurement, and financial management.
- Must possess and maintain a valid BC Class 5 (or equivalent) Driver's Licence.
- Preference may be given to candidates with two (2) or more years experience in a senior leadership capacity and/or senior management experience in wildfire management or an emergency management program and/or field.
- Preference may be given to candidates with experience working with First Nations' communities and facilitating First Nations' consultations or engagement sessions.
