The Indigenous Research Specialist role supports research and partnerships of Indigenous researchers including senior PhD students, post-docs, tenure stream and tenured faculty members and supports the research activities of non-Indigenous faculty working in Indigenous contexts. The role works to promote awareness of researchers to internal and external audiences, supports community engagement, assists with the development and review of grant applications to secure external funding, and provides post-award support including finance, HR and data management. The role provides research administration support as required. To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following: Education: - University undergraduate degree in a relevant field such as Social Sciences and Humanities required or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. Graduate degree would be an asset. - This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below. Experience: - Five years relevant work experience in Indigenous contexts, in an academic research environment. Experience navigating Indigenous content in colonial settings.
