Are you Indigenous and considering a career in law enforcement? For over 17 years, the VPD Indigenous Cadet Program has been mentoring and coaching Indigenous youth, to promote jobs and career opportunities within the VPD. Our program runs from June through August each year. During your VPD internship, you will work with Fleet Services, ride along with members from various sections within the Department, and participate in the annual Pulling Together Canoe Journey. The program is sponsored by the Aboriginal Community Career Employment Services Society (ACCESS). We're looking for applicants who meet these basic requirements: - 19 to 31 years of age - Indigenous ancestry (First Nations, Metis, or Inuit) - Grade 12 diploma or equivalent - Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident - no criminal convictions, no adult criminal charges pending | |
