The Position

Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure, the Senior Security Infrastructure Analyst is responsible for the management and administration of IT security technologies and technical security controls at Payments Canada. The incumbent acts as a lead for the ESAOG (Enterprise Security Advisory and Operations Group) and is responsible for security initiatives related to the identification, evaluation, and implementation of on premise and cloud technology used by Payments Canada.
Responsibilities of the role include:
• Creating and maintaining relevant configurations for Operating Systems images, security devices/technologies, along with documentation of processes and procedures.
• Providing analysis and trending of security log data from various security devices and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the IT security industry, including awareness of new or revised security solutions, improved security processes related to IT Infrastructure, and the development of new attacks and threat vectors.
• Recommending solutions to mitigate risk in any activity that potentially impacts the security of existing information technology and management.
• Participate and represent IT Infrastructure in cross-functional teams to solve complex cybersecurity incident issues and communicate the analysis to clients and leadership.
• Continuously enhance the Security Program and work with vendors and Infrastructure teams to build an auditable, measurable, and sustainable level of compliance.
• Collaborating with Service Providers and PMO to help identify security-related items for Payments Canada and vendor-supported Systems, and provide Security guidance to new and ongoing infrastructure projects.
• Provide expert technical advice in information security, participate in the design, planning and implementation of IT infrastructure in the organization.
ExperienceEducation/Other Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a computer related discipline
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a similar role
• Experience in Vulnerability Management, Penetration Testing, Security Incident Management
• Experience in System Administration (security aspects)
• Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems
• Experience with scripting language (Python/Perl/Shell/Powershell)
• Experience with security frameworks and best practices such as ISO2700x and NIST
• Valid criminal records check or eligibility to obtain
• Government of Canada Level II Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain
• Participation in an on-call support rotation, along with overtime and travel outside of the Ottawa area may be required
