Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship Victoria (Hybrid) Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to two (2) days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement. Water Management Engineer $77,718.46 - $103,695.05 annually, plus 6.5% recruitment and retention adjustment. The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship is accountable for integrated land and natural resource management of water, land, fish and wildlife. The ministry is responsible for implementing integrated decision-making on these resources in partnership with First Nations, communities and other ministries. The Water Management Engineer provides professional engineering guidance and expert technical advice to ministry staff, local authorities, federal agency reps, First Nations officials and British Columbia residents for the engineering, planning and management of the Water Allocation Program and water licensing applications. Experience | Qualifications for this role include: - Master's degree in civil engineering, water resource engineering or other directly related natural resource field, OR - Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, water resource engineering or other directly related natural resource field, PLUS two (2) years directly related experience. - Registered or immediately eligible for registration as a fully qualified Professional Engineer with the Engineers & Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC). - Experience providing professional engineering expertise in the planning, design, maintenance and operation of water management systems. - Experience conducting structural and design assessments and preparing supply management plans. - Experience in forecasting, monitoring and analyzing water management systems. - Experience providing professional, engineering or scientific expertise, advice and recommendations to executive and senior management, and to others engaged in the delivery of water management programs, initiatives or activities. - Experience developing program and/or operational plans; preparing professional engineering reports; and leading research strategies and projects associated with water resource management. |
