| Education Requirements | - Secondary School; - An apprentice program or equivalent work experience |
| Essential Skills | - Set up and operate a wide variety of machine tools drills and saws; - Set up machines and machine parts according to engineering specifications; - Use a variety of measuring devices such as verniers and micrometers ; - Assess the workspace and work required to ensure the work is performed in the safest manner possible; - Perform other manual machining operations such as tapping, grinding and honing in order to machine the part to acceptable standards; - Safely operate hand tools; - Ensure proper maintenance of machines; - Fit, assemble and install machine components and parts according to specifications using hand and power tools; - Set up and program machine tools for use by machining operators; - Adjust machine components to regulated speeds, pressures, temperatures, dimensions and flow of materials; - Complete equipment inspection reports and maintain inspection records |
