Resource Specialist Revenue
$60,998.61 - $69,422.06 annually

The Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is responsible for stewardship of Provincial Crown land and natural resources, and protection of BC’s archaeological and heritage resources. Overseeing a land base of 94.8 million hectares, the Ministry supports the sustainable management of forest, mineral and land resources, the prosperity, viability and competitiveness of industries that use them, and public access for a wide range of activities such as hunting, fishing and recreation. The Ministry is responsible for policy development, operational management and implementation, and oversees over 50 statutes and associated regulations.

The Resource Specialist - Revenue provides independent technical leadership of the Natural Resource District’s forest revenue program. This role has a strong focus on overseeing and providing guidance to the work of other technical staff and contracted resources and conducting detailed analysis and review of revenue submissions by forest professionals (Timber Cruise, Waste Assessment, and Appraisals).

Qualifications for this role include:

• Diploma (or higher) in natural resource management or in a related field, and a minimum of two years’ natural resource management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a Registered Forest Technologist (RFT) with the Association of BC Forest Professionals (ABCFP).
• Experience performing technical duties and working with key statutes that support natural resource management.
• Experience with acts and regulations related to natural resource management.
• Valid BC driver’s licence.
