| Lethbridge Iron Works Company Ltd. is in need of Foundry Workers Employment Terms: Full Time - Permanent 1. Performs foundry tasks concerned with melting metal, pouring metal into molds, removing castings from molds, dressing castings, moving foundry materials. 2. Operate hand-controlled mechanisms to pour and regulate the flow of molten metal into molds to produce castings. 3. Assemble and embed cores in casting frames, using hand tools and equipment. 4. Installs and removes steel jackets and bands used to hold snap molds together during casting. 5. Read temperature gauges and observe color changes; then adjust furnace flames, torches, or electrical heating units as necessary to melt metal to specifications. 6. Repair and maintain metal forms and equipment, using hand tools, sledges, and bars. 7. Assist craftspeople working in the foundry as needed. 8. Set up machines and clean equipment. 9. Keep work area clean and organized. Knowledge and Skills: 1. Ability to understand and follow instructions 2. Organized, detail oriented, strong work ethic and good interpersonal skills 3. Strong English communication (oral and written) skills 4. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team 5. Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, even under pressure Experience and Education Requirements: 1. Some secondary education is required 2. Experience is an asset but not required; On the job training will be provided. 3. Must be physically fit and should be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Working Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week, Shift works: 6:00 am - 2:00 pm, 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, 10:00 pm - 6:00 am, 2 days off on weekends but some Saturday work may be required Wage/Benefit: - $22/hour - Dental, Pension, Disability and Extended Medical Insurance after 3 months of employment Work Location: 720 32 Street North, Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada T1H 5K5 | |
