Ministry of Forests This is a temporary opportunity until March 31, 2025. This temporary opportunity may become permanent. This position may be performed in Victoria, Vernon, Prince George. Other locations may be considered subject to operational considerations and executive approval. Senior Lean and Project Management Specialist BC Timber Sales (BCTS) is a unique program of the Ministry of Forests (MOF). Working collaboratively with regional and district operations, BCTS plans, develops, and auctions a substantial portion of the province's annual available timber volume. The Senior Lean and Project Management Specialist manages large scale projects (medium to long term) with significant internal and external impacts, a range of internal and external partners and significant assigned resources. This role is accountable for defining and controlling all project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and specified quality. The Senior Specialist is a provincial expert on the theories, disciplines and tools associated with Lean and Project Management, BC Timber Sales Teams, and safety. Qualifications for this role include: - Degree in business administration, public administration, management sciences, natural resources or equivalent. - Must be qualified to complete Project Management Professional Designation or Certified Associate in Project Management within 6 months of commencement of position. - Experience in facilitation and organizational development/learning. - Experience coordinating and leading diverse work groups. - Experience independently managing projects. - Experience in directing the work of contracted and staff resources. | |
