Our growing Environmental practice is looking to add a talented and enthusiastic Environmental Consultant to join our team. - Conducting desktop and field biophysical assessments, analyzing data and preparing comprehensive reports.
- Obtaining and managing regulatory approvals at the municipal, provincial, and federal levels for various projects.
- Leading wildlife surveys and habitat assessments to monitor, evaluate, and mitigate the impacts of projects on biodiversity, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Performing wetland classifications and permanence assessments to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Conducting habitat assessments and restorations.
- Managing and organizing data collected for field work and regulatory processes to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
- Building strong relationships and providing support across our offices.
Salary$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 Per Year
ExperienceOur ideal candidate will be a Biologist, Agrologist, or Forester with a professional designation with a minimum of 5 years of experience. In addition, the following attributes and skills would be considered a benefit to this role:
- You are a Qualified Aquatic Environmental Specialist (QAES).
- You have experience with the Alberta Wetland Policy and are or have the potential to pursue signing authority as a Qualified Wetland Science Practitioner (QWSP).
- You have experience working with aquatic and/or terrestrial wildlife.
- You have approvals experience working under the Alberta Public Lands Act, Water Act, and/or the Federal Impact Assessment Act.
- You have experience in construction impact assessment and mitigation planning.
- You are a team player, embrace the notion of integration, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.
- You are an effective communicator, both verbal and written, allowing you to successfully interact with team members and clients.
- You seek to build and contribute to continuously looking for ways to improve and innovate.
- You have a demonstrated desire for professional growth, both individually and within a team.
