Ministry of Forests Multiple locations (Remote) This is a temporary opportunity until March 31, 2025. Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment. Senior Rangeland Wildfire Recovery Specialist $80,823.09 - $102,726.88 annually As the provincial specialist, the Senior Rangeland Wildfire Recovery Specialist provides professional expertise and leadership on the strategic direction and implementation of the provincial rangeland wildfire recovery, operational practices, legislation, policies, standards and guidelines. Job Requirements: -Master of Science in Range Sciences (preferred), Forestry or Fire Ecology with a minimum of 3 years of **related experience; or Bachelors with a minimum of 6 years of **related experience. ** Related Experience may include: -Leading program and policy initiatives to address complex existing and emerging issues at all levels. -Undertaking research and analysis to support policy options and alternatives. -Applying professional expertise into strategic and operational plans to supports linkages to other programs and initiatives. -Applying professional knowledge to develop, update, implement and train others on monitoring procedures towards adaptive management. -Conducting audits to determine if operational plans are achieving objectives for rangeland wildfire recovery. -Experience preparing and presenting resource management issues and making recommendations to multi-stakeholder planning tables, senior management/executive. -Experience in managing, building, and maintaining cooperative and productive partnerships and effectively negotiating and consulting with Indigenous peoples and internal/external stakeholders. -Registered, or immediately eligible for full registration, as a Professional Agrologist with the BC Institute of Agrologists OR as a Registered Professional Forester with the Association of BC Professional Foresters. | |
