Hypor Inc. is in need of Pork Production Technician (NOC 8252)

Employment Terms: Full-time - Permanent

Duties And Responsibilities:
– Working in all areas of the farrow to finish barn
– Ensure proper handling of stock and comfort of pigs
– Daily feeding and general care of animals, ensuring appropriate environment and availability of feed and water
– Administer vaccinations and medications as required and as authorized- Monitor pig health, recognize signs of disorder and report concerns
– Carry out company's standard operating procedures and programs to ensure production targets are met
– Operate a high pressure washer and ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards for the Unit are met
– Follow safe manure management pit pulling procedure when cleaning out manure pits- Monitor and maintain proper ventilation and temperatures using automated control system
– Prepare and execute physical animal inventories, ensuring all animals are properly recorded in inventory
– Testing of selected animals and explicit attention to accuracy of records
– Maintain and follow all production, health and safety protocols
– Reporting safety concerns to the safety representative and/or UnitManager
– Perform other related duties as required

Working Hours: 10 days on with four days off or straight Monday – Friday shift rotation may be required

Education RequirementsCompletion of secondary school is required
Enrollment in Swine Technician Course preferred
Essential Skills– Knowledge of swine operations and best farming practices
– Patience and empathy to work with animals
– Analytical and problem solving skills
– Basic Computer skills
– Decision making skills
– Good written and verbal English communication skills
– Ability to work individually or as part of a group
ExperienceAt least 1 year experience in handling hogs and barn equipment is required
