This position is located in Coquitlam and may be performed from these locations: Victoria, Prince George and Kamloops based on operational requirements.

Structural Liaison Manager
$80,638.63 - $105,799.68 annually plus 6.5% Recruitment and Retention Adjustment

The main purpose of the Structural Liaison Section is to provide operational highway structural engineering services, technical advice, and management expertise. As well, the Section provides operational expertise and field experience for the setting of standards and guidelines for the management of structural consultant designs and engineering standards and practices.

The Structural Liaison Manager reports to the Provincial Manager, Structural Design and Construction and functions in a dynamic and changing environment which involves leading design teams and supplying expertise to consultant design teams working for the Ministry. This position is responsible for technical audits and value engineering assignments for highway designs delivered by external design teams.

Qualifications for this role include:
- University degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent post-secondary degree.
- Must be registered, or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C.
o Note: immediately eligible for registration is defined as currently registered as a Professional Engineer in another Canadian jurisdiction, and able to obtain registration in BC within 6 months of employment.
- A minimum of 7 years of related experience.
- Preference may be given to applicants with 10 or more years of related experience.
- Experience participating in highway structural design and construction of projects of considerable scope and complexity.
- Experience supervising and/or providing direction to staff or project teams.
- Experience working with, and providing advice and counsel to, senior management and executives; and building effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
Salary$80,638.63 - $105,799.68 per year
