Educational Assistant (Term) Life Sciences Position Location: Notre Dame Campus (Winnipeg, MB) Full-Time, Term Position Available Anticipated December 2019 up to March 2020 This competition may be used to establish a 12 month eligibility list of qualified candidates for future vacancies. Duties: The Educational Assistant in the Life Sciences Department will be responsible for providing support to the instructor in the delivery of program content in a laboratory setting, with primary duties in the disciplines of Chemistry, Microbiology, Instrumentation, Tissue Culture, and Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Processes. The Educational Assistant is responsible for: preparing laboratory demonstrations/experiments for classes; preparing dismantling and maintaining laboratory equipment; ensuring the cleanliness of the laboratory, and assisting with inventory and ordering of supplies. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered - Work experience in Science / Laboratory based in post-secondary education - Experience in a laboratory environment - Experience with various laboratory instruments and equipment - Experience performing laboratory instrument and equipment maintenance - Effective leadership skills - Effective interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team - Effective verbal and written communication skills - Experience teaching adults - Values Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - Commitment to lifelong learning ASSET QUALIFICATIONS - Experience teaching adults CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada - This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends | |
