The opportunity
The Corrosion Prevention (CP) program for TC Energy oversees all aspects of our Cathodic Protection asset performance across the country. As the Manager, Corrosion Prevention Programs Implementation, you will be accountable for leading a team of approximately 20 certified corrosion technicians and 60 seasonal contractors that are responsible for implementation of the CP annual and technical survey programs safely, efficiently and with minimum impact to operation.

Reporting to the Central Region Director, your role is essential in maintaining productive relationships with other Operational Directors, Area Managers, and Construction Contractors supporting the corrosion program. You will be expected to support collaboration with Program Managers, Project Managers and Engineers across the country to ensure the safe implementation and completion of the program.

This position requires candidates to:
· Extensively travel across Canada (approximately 40% travel)
· Have and maintain a valid Driver's License
· Provide a Driver's Abstract for review
· Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screen including drug and alcohol testing

What you'll do
· Safely deliver quality work
· Provide leadership to continuously improve business performance in terms of health, safety and environment, costs, maintenance practices, and customer services
· Understand and implement Operations and Engineering Strategies
· Lead a multi-discipline team of corrosion technicians, contractors and summer students to implement the large and challenging Cathodic Protection Program for Canada Gas, Liquids and Energy (BU)
· Develop and foster the environment that actively enables and encourages employee innovation, continuous improvement, and commitment to operational excellence
· Maintain productive relationships with regional leaders and strategic CP vendors and support continuous improvement in their performance
· Support CP technology development and improvement to enhance the effectiveness of CP program implementation
· Provide oversight leadership and coordination of vendors and supporting contractors
· Establish and maintain strong relationships with all stakeholders to enable close alignment on business objectives and deliverables and improve efficiency
· Provide leadership and oversight to the cohesiveness of the team
· Provide leadership over the training and development of Corrosion technicians and succession planning
· Build and lead a high-performance team, develop team culture consistent with Canada Gas Operations (CGO) culture and optimize work processes and efficiency
· Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial, and local regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures pertaining to operations and maintenance
· Develop, manage and monitor budgets for the Team

As a leader in Field Operations, you will be expected to:

· Manage and coordinate emergency response with a requirement to be on call to respond to emergency situations

As a member of the Regional Leadership Team, you will be required to:
· Work collaboratively to establish the region's strategy, goals, and business plan
· Commit to the execution of the region's business plan
· Collaborate with area managers within and outside region and Supply Chain Management (SCM) to identify contract options
· Represent the company and foster critical partnerships both internally and externally
· Be a champion for continuous improvement and change management
· Contribute to company-wide objectives and initiatives

Minimum Qualifications
· Requires a technical trades certificate, technical college diploma, two year associate degree in technical discipline, or equivalent
· Minimum 10 or more years of related work experience; prior cathodic protection experience is valued
· An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications
· Demonstrated leadership experience in the area of health, safety and environment, change management, employee development, performance management, and team building skills or exceptional leadership potential
· Demonstrated skills and experience in working with strategic vendors and maintain strong relationships
· Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to tailor delivery to suit the audience
· Advanced planning and organizational skills with the ability to lead diverse groups
· Ability to work independently with minimal direction, comfortable managing multiple priorities and with a strong business acumen
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
