| We are currently seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic to join our team Rocky Mountain Refrigeration Ltd. Rocky Mountain Refrigeration Ltd. is a Victoria-based company with 30 years of experience in residential, commercial, industrial and marine refrigeration and air conditioning installation and service. We provide 24 hour 7 days a week service 365 days a year to assist our clients in all their refrigeration needs. Job Duties -Read and interpret blueprints, drawings or other specifications. -Work independently or under the supervision of a more experienced refrigeration technician/mechanic. -Follow the company's safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working. -Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools. -Measure and cut piping, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment -Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. -Recharge system with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing. -Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems. -Apply technical knowledge related to refrigeration systems to troubleshoot and/or improve heating, ventilation, air handling, and refrigeration and air conditioning systems. -Keep accurate records of work performed and materials used. Employment Requirements -At least 1 year of proven work experience as refrigeration technician or as an apprentice. -Completion of secondary school. -Ability to follow instructions. -Capable of working independently and as part of a team. -Punctual, scheduling flexibility, including the ability to work and travel on weekends, when necessary. -Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with team members and clients. -Attention to detail. -Excellent physical endurance and capable of carrying 50 lbs. -Ability and willingness to work at heights. -Standing for long periods of time. -Capable of follow safety protocols at all times. -Ability to use hand tools and power tools. -Willingness to travel relatively long distances for work projects. Job Details -$32.00 per hour -Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week) -2 weeks of vacation per year or 4% of gross salary, plus statutory holidays -Extended Health after three (3) months of full time work. -Possibility of earning bonuses as per the company's policies. -Assistance to commute to work sites outside the Greater Victoria area. Location -Various worksites in Vancouver Island, subject to work projects. | |
