PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Application Developer position is responsible for the development and maintenance of SAP Applications according to project requirements and user expectations.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Participate in the Development and Support of SAP Modules; Develop Code in ABAP, ABAP OO, Workflow & NWGW;
  • Develop Code in ABAP, ABAP OO, Workflow & NWGW;
  • Participate in the technical change management process including code reviews Perform technical unit tests on standard and developed objects;
  • Design and code application programs; create test transactions and run tests;
  • Conduct analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems;
  • Review, analyze, and modify application systems, including coding, testing, debugging Ensure the operating efficiency of existing application systems;
  • Maintain records for the documentation of systems development and revisions;
  • Create technical documentation conforming to company standards;
  • Participate in an on call support rotation to support 24x7 operations;
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of custom built functionality and interfaces for SAP Applications and work with others developers in this area;
  • Participate in daily production checks and operations process required for ensuring any incidents are avoided or detected in time on SAP applications;
  • Lead troubleshooting of incidents or defects that arise in SAP applications and ensure a timely resolution;
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are updated on progress as well;

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering or Computer Science;
  • Minimum 2-3 years SAP implementation experience - ideally 2 full project lifecycles;
  • Extensive experience in RICEFW objects;
  • Extensive experience in Debugging, Runtime Analysis and System monitoring;
  • Experience in user exits, BADIs, BTEs, Enhancement Points, and using the Switch Framework;
  • Experience in Interfaces-EDI/ALE/IDOCs, RFC, BAPI's;
  • Experience using ABAP Objects and controls technology;
  • Experience in requirements analysis and design of technical solutions ranging in scope and size;
  • Analytical and contextualization skills;
  • Team player, skilled in working in a highly collaborative manner;
  • Experience with HANA Enterprise Suite, FIORI and/or BOPF will be considered an asset;
  • Experience with Eclipse-based ABAP Development Tools IDE will be considered an asset;
  • Experience with SAP performance tuning or data archiving will be considered an asset;
  • SAP ABAP or other SAP Technical Certification will be considered an asset;
