Employees of the BC Public Service must be located in BC at the time of employment.
This position can be based in any of the following Ministry of Forests offices: Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson or Fort St John.

Manager, First Nations Relations
$86,200.00 - $122,100.01 annually

The Manager, First Nations Relations leads the planning, development, delivery, and evaluation of the province's duty to consult First Nations and to provide authoritative advice, interpretation and/or consultation services for one of the Ministry of Forests eight regions.

Qualifications for this role include:

- Master's degree in natural resource management, forestry, agrology, First Nations studies or a related discipline and at least three (3) year of recent, related experience; OR
- Bachelor's Degree in natural resource management, forestry, agrology, First Nations studies or a related discipline and at least four (4) years of recent, related experience; OR
- Diploma in natural resource management, forestry, agrology, First Nations studies or a related discipline and at least seven (7) years of recent, related experience; OR
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered; AND
- Recent experience is defined as experience gained within the last eight (8) years.

*Recent, related experience must include all of the following:

- Experience leading consultations and/or participating in negotiations with Indigenous peoples.
- Experience in Indigenous relationship building.
- Experience leading and resolving complex issues (staff and client)
- Experience in supervising, leading, coaching, and mentoring staff
