The opportunity

This position reports to the Director of Construction/Commissioning Excellence and Quality Assurance within the Project Delivery Excellence Department. The successful applicant will support the development and execution of TC Energy's Corporate Quality Program with specific attention in the direction of providing support and governance toward implementation with the processes and procedures of the Program

This role will be responsible for managing Senior Quality Advisors (SQA) and will work closely with Business Unit Quality Managers to ensure that the corporate quality program is being implemented and effectively measured within the respective Business Units. Close coordination and collaboration with the other Quality Assurance Managers and teams will be a key to success. This role will own the overall TC Energy Corporate Quality Program.

The Project Delivery Standard is an enhanced Project Management System that uses an ISO 9001, Quality Management Systems, based framework to ensure quality in every process that touches on Capital Projects and to provide consistent, predictable, and best-practice project results.

What you'll do

  • Lead team of Quality Advisors with strong focus on collaboration and partnership with the Business Units to achieve quality success
  • Assist Business Units with meeting and interpreting the corporate quality program requirements
  • Assigning SQA's to support all applicable projects and new resources are recruited/onboarded/trained
  • Establish KPI's for measurement and improvement of overall corporate quality program
  • Coordinate and support Tier 1 and 2 Quality Audit processes
  • Develop and implement training aligned to Corporate Quality Program requirements
  • Establish Standard Quality Plans for ease of implementation for Business Units
  • Establish and implement operational controls and execute requirements from TC Energy's Operational Management System
  • Promote and implement culture of quality within TC Energy

Minimum qualifications

  • 10 + years of direct Project Management experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management organizations
  • 5 + years of direct Quality Management experience in Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management organizations
  • Proven record of leadership experience
  • Experience in Quality Management (QA / QC) and Quality Management Systems
  • Experience working as a Project Manager, Project Engineer or on a Project Team
  • Effective influencing and communication skills to reach a broad audience
  • Conduct business with a sense of urgency and manage to short deadlines
  • Self-starter, with a pro-active approach to problem identification and resolution
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities
  • Strong leadership, management and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate change and help others adapt to a continuously changing environment
  • Demonstrated skills in aligning goals with strategic direction
  • Demonstrated networking skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry
  • Preference will be given to quality professionals with project management experience
  • Experience in engineering, procurement and construction desirable
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems

Additional Role Requirements

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Provide a driver's abstract for review
  • Occasional travel to other company locations across North America and Mexico for temporary assignments, meetings or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home
  • This position will require travel across borders and as such the candidate must be able to provide applicable documentation to this affect
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must have current and valid passport
