PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Analyst, S&C Quality Assurance will be responsible for development, production, on-going maintenance, and monitoring of adherence to, the S&C Quality Plan (“The Plan”). The new S&C Quality Plan will be designed to ensure consistent engineering, construction, and maintenance processes, procedures, and materials are used throughout all aspects of the S&C lifecycle.

 

As a member of the S&C Engineering Wayside Reliability team, the Supervisor S&C Quality Assurance will be a key member of the team which works to develop the new modern S&C process and procedure documents that will form a critical part of the S&C Quality Plan; such as S&C standard plans, Test & Inspection Requirement documents, and the S&C Construction & Maintenance Requirement Documents. The team member will have direct responsibility for the creation and editing of The Plan documents, as well as hands-on monitoring of adherence to them.

 

 POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop the S&C Quality System: working with all S&C stakeholders (Engineering & Operations), build out the S&C Quality System by documenting the procedures that will form the critical portion of The System;
  • Introduce & Roll-out: once produced, roll-out the S&C Quality System to a defined target area for a term and monitor feedback and effectiveness. Final roll-out will be system-wide;
  • Monitor the effectiveness of the S&C Quality System: once in effect system-wide, monitor and audit the effectiveness of the S&C Quality Plan throughout all stages of the S&C lifecycle. Report issues, concerns, systemic problems, and enhancement possibilities, to the S&C Quality team;
  • Assists in the development, qualification, and implementation of new S&C materials, tools, and technologies;
  • Provide support to S&C Engineering and S&C Operations teams in regards to the S&C Quality System and all aspects within its structure;
  • This position will require the ability to obtain and maintain Rules Card qualification.

 

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED Equivalent;
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in S&C Construction, S&C Maintenance, S&C Engineering, or Quality Function deployment;
  • Knowledge of AREMA standards and/or FRA/Transport Canada requirements;
  • Ability to travel as required, potentially on a semi-regular basis, within Canada and the US;
  • Strong understanding of the S&C or product lifecycle and responsibilities;
  • Ability to prioritize and efficiently manage workload;
  • Proven ability to work independently yet function as a part of a team;
  • Competence with the use of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Proficiency in clear and proper language for writing of documents;
  • Experience with AutoCad, or other engineering drawing software, will be an asset.

Management Conductor Program:
