| Are you a passionate Laboratory Professional looking for a rewarding career? We are looking for a relief Laboratory Technologist to join the Microbiology team at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, BC. The Royal Inland Hospital (RIH) is one of Interior Health Authorities tertiary referral hospitals and the Lab at RIH is one of our largest and most interesting. This is a full-service Laboratory offering Chemistry, Haematology, Transfusion Medicine, Histopathology, Microbiology and Point of Care testing. The Lab employs a very large team of generalist and specialist Technologists who deliver both inpatient and outpatient Lab services utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our professional Lab team, work collaboratively with other departments throughout the hospital and other Interior Health sites. As a Laboratory Technologist, you will work in a team based environment and perform a variety of duties within the Laboratory such as routine and/or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and/or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating/reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents. This is a relief part-time 0.49fte float position. Shifts are 8 hour day and evening between 7am and 11.30pm with the opportunity to bid for additional casual shifts. | Credentials | Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS. |
| Education Requirements | Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program |
| Experience | One (1) year recent related experience. |
