| Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship Multiple locations, BC (Hybrid) Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to three (3) days at home per week as per the telework agreement. Species at Risk Biologist $73,855.42 - $84,134.34 annually The Ministry of Water, Land and Resource Stewardship works with other natural resource sector ministries to achieve British Columbia's goals of reconciliation, economic development and environmental sustainability. The Terrestrial Species Recovery Branch resides within the Resource Stewardship Division of the Ministry and strives to implement effective conservation solutions for British Columbia's at-risk flora, fauna and ecological communities for the continuing benefit of future generations of British Columbians. The incumbent will work with provincial government partners, as well as partners from other governments, and non-governmental organizations to support the implementation of conservation actions to achieve population and habitat recovery goals and objectives for terrestrial species and ecosystems at risk. | |

| Experience | Qualifications for this role include: - Bachelor of science degree in biological sciences, plus four (4) years related experience, OR - Master of science or higher in biological sciences, plus two (2) years of related experience. - Registered (or immediately eligible) as a Registered Professional Biologist (RP Bio) in B.C. with the College of Applied Biology within six months of employment. Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following: - Experience leading staff in project or field settings. - Experience working with First Nations communities and/or facilitating First Nations consultations or negotiations. - Experience working with R, ArcGIS, and/or other tools for data management, analysis and visualization. - Experience writing and reviewing provincial and federal recovery strategies for at risk species. |
