O/a Core Dynamics Pilates & Dance is in need of Dance Instructor EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Full Time - Permanent Core Dynamics Pilates & Dance, in Lloydminster, Alberta, CANADA is growing! We are looking for energetic, passionate and experienced teachers for the 2024-25 (August - May) dance season with potential for employment beyond. Our classes are taught by skilled teachers, in positive classrooms and we pride ourselves on age-appropriate costumes and choreography. You must have a great energy to match our students, excellent professionalism and a thorough knowledge of dance. We are looking for teachers with a strong passion for dance and a desire to share their knowledge (while building the confidence in their students thru a fun, creative and quality dance experience). We only hire instructors that promote respect, are driven towards excellence and have a willingness to celebrate their student's strengths and efforts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Acro, Hip Hop and Contemporary classes (teaching experience in Pilates would be an asset but not necessary) - Weekly instruction of assigned classes (teaching technique and artistic expression) - Prepare students for specific auditions and performances as well as exams - Teaching from a dance syllabus (training is provided, this is dependent on discipline) - Tracking class attendance - Organizing class plans and student development - Selecting costumes for groups and solo/duets - Creating unique and interesting choreography that is both age and developmentally appropriate and preparing for stage and competitions - Attending studio functions, monthly staff meetings, quarterly trainings and planning sessions - Cutting and editing music files - Communicate with students and occasionally parents regarding studio events and performances - Handing out studio messaging - Forwarding photos and video to online platforms and our social media director. - Following and upholding safety protocols as directed. WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday Evenings at 4:00PM - 9:30PM, Saturdays 9:00AM - 3:00PM. These hours will be depending on scheduling in the fall. The teacher will work during these days and times but not necessarily all of these hours. Some daytime hours 9:00AM- 12Noon WORK LOCATION: #201 1716 - 50 Avenue, Lloydminster, AB, Canada T9V 0Y1 EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS: - Education: Certification thru an organization such as the Royal Academy of Dance, Ceccheti Society, Vagavona, CDTA, ADAPT, Acrobatic Arts, or similar training, experience - Acrobatique is a definite asset, as well as any fitness training or certifications such as Pilates or Yoga - Work Experience: 2 years as dance instructor, teaching and handling groups of multiple ages - Has an understanding of basic anatomy and muscle function - Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines - Ability to teach and design fitness classes is a definite asset | |
