Wage Rate** As per schedule “A” of the CUPE, Local 3906, Unit 2 Collective Agreement, the Sessional Faculty rates are $8,056.37 for 3 units.

Course Description:

This interdisciplinary course introduces students to key issues of global social governance and its connections with globalization processes. Locating global social governance within the context of structural inequalities, this course also seeks a deeper understanding of the issues of development, polarization, social exclusion, international migration, public health, and climate changes from a global perspective. The roles of various non-state actors (e.g., international organizations, transnational corporations, international NGOs, and social movements) in pursuing social justice and human rights in the global context are also addressed.

Required Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have previous experience teaching this course, or similar courses, at the university level and/or appropriate academic qualifications (Ph.D. in a relevant area of Social Sciences or Humanities.) with demonstrable teaching ability. Selection will be based on seniority, teaching competence, and previous academic employment experience.

**Supplemented Fees- 15.02(a) The employee may be eligible to receive supplemented fees in accordance with Schedule C of the Collective Agreement.  The actual rate of pay when in excess of the base rate of pay is deemed to include any supplemented fees owing, to the extent of the excess amount.  If the actual rate of pay is less than the sum of the base rate of pay and the supplemented fees owing, then the employee shall receive the difference.
