The Department of Pediatrics at McMaster University and McMaster Children’s Hospital are seeking two (2) full-time academic physicians to join the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology; one at the Assistant Professor level, and the other at the Associate or Full Professor level. The Division of Endocrinology comprises 6.2 pediatric endocrinologists and an extensive and dedicated interprofessional team from nursing, nutrition, social work, child life, exercise physiology, kinesiology and psychology.  The successful candidates will be in a position to advance division and departmental goals within clinical care, education innovation and scholarship, and/or research including clinical, basic, quality improvement, and health policy research.  The primary role of the successful candidates will include clinics in General Endocrine and Transgender Medicine, Diabetes and Weight Management as well as participation in in-patient service and after- hours call.

The successful candidates will share in the education responsibilities of the division, department and university, as they relate to the pediatric endocrinology residency training program and other learners whom the division hosts. This includes responsibilities such as academic half day teaching, facilitation of PBL sessions, academic coaching, assessment of learners, remediation plan development and execution, presentation at divisional and departmental rounds. Our pediatric endocrinology residency training program is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and hosts an average of 4 trainees per year.

This position will incorporate an academic appointment and salary will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the applicant. Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, have demonstrated experience and recognized training in Pediatric Endocrinology, and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario. A relevant graduate degree at the Master’s or PhD level would be an asset.
