The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for the following teaching position to be offered in the Fall 2024 Term. Date of Posting: June 25 - July 12, 2024 Course Name/Number: Math 1LS3 - Calculus for Life Sciences I Term: Fall Term, September 3 - December 5, 2024 Number of Section(s) Available: 1 section (C03) Number of Units per Section: 3 units Location: Central Campus Projected Enrollment: 300 Projected TA Support: TBD Class Times: Monday and Thursday at 3:30 - 4:20pm and Tuesday 4:30-5:20pm Wage Rate*: As per schedule “A” of the CUPE, Local 3906, Unit 2 Collective Agreement, the Sessional Faculty rate is $8,056.37 for 3 units. Course Description: Topics from differential and integral calculus, differential equations, discrete-time dynamical systems, chosen for their relevance to the life sciences. Required Qualifications: MSc and/or PhD in Mathematics or related field and classroom experience with the curriculum. Selection will be based on seniority, academic qualifications, communication skills, teaching competence, ability to perform the various duties of the Appointment, and previous academic employment experience (these criteria are not listed in order of priority).
