The opportunity

Reporting to the Supply Chain Strategic Sourcing Manager this role is responsible to work with applicable Category Management Leaders, Category Management Contract-Sourcing Specialists, Category Specialists, and other key Supply Chain stakeholders and embedded teams, to collect and analyze data, market information, and provide objective and insightful recommendations based upon relevant applicable information to add value and drive business decisions.

This role has a critical responsibility to actively lead and develop ongoing initiatives in addition to mentoring Supply Chain analysts. The role will maintain an external network of supplier relationships and market contacts related to TC Energy's top supplier relationships; this will help to access additional market intelligence that may not be available through published sources. The Senior Analyst will also be responsible for further advancing current offerings, especially around market intelligence and supply chain performance

What you'll do

• Lead the advancement of the internal capabilities of the Advanced Analytics team around scopes of Market Intelligence, Spend & Data Analytics, and Strategic Sourcing Analytics
• Work closely with clients and stakeholders in understanding their needs and work with Analysts to develop solutions. Internal clients include but not limited to Canada Projects, Canada Ops, US Projects, US Ops, Mexico and Liquids
• Support in conducting external research to analyze market opportunities, risks, technology trends, associated with selected categories; model, monitor, and report trends in underlying cost drivers
• On-board, mentor and coach developing team members to enable them to successfully perform their functions effectively
• Maintain and garner ties to appropriate industry groups and conduct ongoing research of industry benchmarks
• Further enhance and advance supply chain performance analytics capabilities and reporting
• Support Supply Chain key stakeholders in making data-driven business decisions based on Market Intelligence and forward-looking information aligned with overarching goals, targets and objectives
• Identify the relevant, internal and external sources of data and information
• Collect, compile, normalize data and information and format/present in accordance with the requirements applicable to the audience
• Create and customize dashboards to facilitate monitoring and sharing information and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications

• Relevant University Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Computer Science 
• 6+ years of performing analytics experience in Supply Chain Management
• Understanding and ability to apply Supply Chain, best practices, and processes
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to drive consensus between stake holders with differing opinions
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to network and lead/influence others
• Strong analytical, problem solving and statistical modeling skills
• Ability to lead and manage individuals and multiple high priority projects
• Advanced Knowledge and application of MS Excel and/or Power BI specificallyy in Power Query/Power Pivot

Preferred Qualifications

• Designation in Project Management or an MBA program
• Experience with SAP/Ariba modules
• Experience with relevant Supply Chain Management process and systems
