The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Neonatology is seeking one (1) full-time faculty member to join a committed team in a stimulating environment that combines a regionalized perinatal service and internationally recognized strength in research and medical education across the complete spectrum of child health.

The successful candidate will be considered a clinician–educator but will also provide support to the Divisional and Departmental research activities. Faculty members are expected to share in the clinical responsibilities of the NICU service while promoting the profile of McMaster University and McMaster Children’s Hospital through educational and research endeavours.

The Neonatal Division is an important service within McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH), with the pediatric regional referral centre serving a population of more than 2.3 million in south central Ontario. The Neonatal wards include a 49-bed NICU as one of the largest level III units in the country as well as a 14-bed level II unit, with a multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive patient care. There are more than 1300 newborn admissions per year including more than 200 VLBW infants. The full spectrum of admissions includes all types of congenital malformations and non-cardiac post-surgical care.

This position will incorporate an academic appointment, and academic rank and salary will be commensurate with the experience and expertise of the applicant.  Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in Neonatology and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
